It's nearly 10am here in Las Vegas and I am just sitting down at my desk with a cup of coffee. I then tune-in to what lately takes place of my morning US magazine. (Those of you who know me know that this NEW reading material must be good) some might even agree that "good" is understated. The new Adina NYC Apartment blog is the new "Kari Bradshaw article" except we'll keep this PG-13, and replace "sex," with "Adina" ie: "*Adina and the City*." Adina has this way of keeping you excited and motivated with just a conversation. Her energy can drive you. Which, since I am not living in the city right now, I NEED MY "ADINA FIX!" Even the bit parts written about Luna leaves me wanting more. While emerged in my reading Luna stares back at me from the tiny box on the right ( I miss my little White and Pink friend)...

One could say Adina made me love Real Estate( I worked for Adina about a year or so), but the truth is I am also driven by other passions I have to explore. None-the-less, working for Adina was one of the best experiences of my life! Number one.... HELLO I met Adina! She is so easy to work for. She really allowed each of us to be ourselves, trusted that we would learn from her, and represent her business in the best light, "Adina Light." ( Sorry I can't help it. We all started using Adina's name in the front of certain words, it tends to make the meaning of the word bigger and better. After all when you have a boss who takes you to the best spots and shopping in NYC; while also giving you the knowledge and drive to be the best in real estate, you call yourself lucky!)

When I moved to NYC I did the typical thing, I started bartending. Needless to say... I hated it. So I did what most people do; I turned to Craigslist. This is where I first met Adina. Its strange how this network, something so impersonal and broad, brought me to one of the most special people I ever met. Its actually funny how it happened....

So we set the day and time to interview. I arrive at the office, 20 years old, in my "dress to impress" outfit ( which I now cringe about after all my Adina lessons in shopping) into this sunny, adorable, and obviously women run office. I sit on the white leather couch next to the gorgeous fireplace, a pretty fur white rug, and with a little white dog that quickly takes a seat on my lap. Luna and I became sisters instantly. ( I hope I'm painting a picture for you) Anyhow, in walks Adina with a huge smile, and so friendly. My first thought "Wow! I wish I had her shoes", which I assume is most women's first impression. We then went to the W hotel and had some coffee next to a giant window, and I know this in itself is so glam compared to most interviews. We had a great conversation and say we'll talk soon. Long story short; I dropped the ball a tiny bit and was offered an internship instead of a paid position. This in most cases would be appropriate, I was still young and had no real estate experience. After a few phone conversations, persuading, Adina agreed to take a chance by giving me the position I wanted and sending me to real estate school. Turns out I was pretty good at it. Funny enough the way life has unraveled, I'm not working in real estate right now. Which is ok by me because I walked away from the business with a best friend. I am one of the luckiest people in the world because I have her in my life. She has the biggest heart I have ever met and is so giving. She is my family. She helped me in ways that a silly blog about her blog can't explain, and its all because she takes chances on people. She gives them the benefit of a doubt, and if she picks you as a friend she truly is one. While I watched her every move in real estate, I saw how she brings this same sense of loyalty and truth to every owner and client. People like her immediately because you want to be around her. Most cross their fingers wishing that some of her goodness, hotness, smartness, whatever you want to call it will rub off on them.

In yesterday's blog she wrote; "When you can tell people you don't compete with your competition because you don't have to (my new favorite line) you start to feel better than good." The truth is, and maybe she doesn't realize, she never had to compete. Her business may be bigger now but that never effected an owner meeting her and saying, " I think I'll go with Adina, never mind those other brokers, with no style, or a little white dog, or intelligence," Hahahaha! Well maybe they don't say exactly that.

Bottom line Adina has got "it", which I know she loves when people write this because she does the "Adina Dance". And, with Adina's team of HOTTIES that include a Hot Tamale, E, And Eirn (Sorry we'll find a nick-name for you soon) who all bring their own bang to the biz; she can't be beat! I love her, and her little dog too! Well, time for a re-fill on my coffee, as I wait for the next inspirational entry.
