I am with Michael from Serr.biz learning how to use the back end of my blog. He is the best. Exciting stuff. The control freak part of me is very excited about this ;-) I can control my own blog soon. Yay.

Yesterday was a good day. I like Mondays, typically. I like to start the
week off on a good foot. I think having a good Monday sets a precedent for
a strong week, so I usually go out of my way to make Monday’s extra
productive. Yesterday’s Monday certainly was.
I wanted to share one thing with all of you reading my blog. I am not
perfect. Sometimes I make mistakes. We all do right? It just so happens
that, I made one yesterday. I did apologize, but this client was still
unhappy. It happens from time to time in everyone’s business. Here’s what
happened. |

I am feeling the effects of the daylight saving clock change. I am so
sensitive to pretty much everything, even little things like this effect
me. My name, “Adina” is a word in Hebrew; the meaning is sensitive or
gentle. I always make a joke out. Why didn’t my parents call me
something that means strong and tough or ”Nothing bothers her”, ha! Oh
well. Although I didn’t physically go to the office this weekend (a luxury
I started affording myself about a year ago, in part because I grew my
staff and it was unnecessary for me to be their 7 days when I started to
pay salaries to people to assist me, but also in part for just plain
sanity.) I know we were busy. We didn’t get any apartment applications
though, which is always something that bothers me. Generally speaking,
it’s not THAT strange, as the month just started and most people are
looking for April 1st. A lot of people will take at least another weekend to look around before making their decision, and right now there is
certainly a lot to look at. So I will take some deep breaths this Monday
morning and try not to worry too much. Worry is, of course, part of
commission syndrome. When is your next deal coming? You worry and worry… |

Here I am, sleeping with Luna and the Blackberry again. Woke up not too long ago and read this about my long time agent Esther. It's emails like this that make me want to sleep w/ the phone after all...

Late start this morning for me. I went out with my agent Erin last night
after work. I like to do it as often as I can. Bonding with my agents. We
are friends as much as we are a company. I do care for them very much. I
care for them as people not just as my staff. We have a great vibe in our
office because of our care and concern for one another. I think it is very
unique. Luckily, there is really rarely any awkwardness about the blurred
lines between our personal and professional feelings towards one another.
There is a great deal of respect for me as their “boss”, they are my
troops, they hate to let me down, and for that I am very grateful. We work
together, as much as we laugh and cry together. I can see when they are
down. And I want to know why. I do feel responsible for them. I enjoy
taking care of them. They are like my family. I feel like ‘Momma Adina” As
Ray says “you always feed me”. Translation- I pay for lunch. I am lucky to
have them. I like giving them advice, especially the girls. Most of “my
girls” as I call them are in their 20’s and almost all of them are single
like me. |
