I made it into this months Rea Deal again. View article at
I enjoy being a "go to" person in the media for information on the NYC Rental Market. It's something I worked very long and hard to achieve.
Transaction wise Rentals have been much busier than earlier in the year.
There's still a lot of haggling going on but deals are getting done.
Certain neighborhoods are still struggling-like the Upper West Side. Lot's of vacancy and fewer transactions over all. Unless a listing is located in a really prime location like 70's and Central Park- it seems to really suffer as far as the length of time it takes to get rented etc. West Village remaining strong but even the rents there have dropped. It will be interesting to see how June pans out as June is typically one of the strongest months for NYC Rentals. Our luxury apartments-one's priced over $5,000 did well in May as far as getting rented quickly. I thought that was interesting. I have no new exclusive rental buildings to report today.
But it's early! I may have one in the works :-) Stay tuned.
To be continued.
