Apartments - Notes From Adina

Happy New Year Everyone! New Year New Start :) i.e. I promise to update the blog. The end of 2009 (well maybe all of 2009) was absolutely crazy. It was this mix of Real Estate being slow and having to keep the staff motivated and the apartments rented and a deal I have going on with one of my Landlord's commercial space available in one of my exclusive buildings. This is my first real hint. I am not ready to announce ALL the details but I will say I am partnering with one of clients and we are soon to be opening a new business together in one of my exclusive buildings. This will be my second business and in this business I do have partners. Adina Equities will always be my baby

and I will still be running that company as usual. More to come on the new biz, but in the mean time, I am putting in place some exciting changes at the office. First of all we are redecorating. We are six girls and a dog sharing our office and I have to say I don't think any of us are clean freaks or anything. Lol. So I am off to the container store! I've also reassigned some of my exclusive accounts and those decisions feel really good to me. I think the new year is a good time to look at the past year and try to implement any changes that you feel would make a difference all around in 2010. I've asked my agents to set at least one work goal (hopefully more) and we will meet in the next coming week or so and make an action plan to accomplish their work goals. I of course have my own goals. I have a couple of innovative ideas about renting apartments in this changing market  using my website and the internet which I would like to implement ASAP. In the past I have been guilty of thinking of great idea's and taking too long to actually implement them. This happens to all people who own their own business because we typically just have so much on our plate and are busy keeping things going and putting out fires. For example, I wanted to do a charitable project called "Adina Cares". Since I can be a sort of wanna be perfectionist, I tweaked the idea and spent so long working on the concept- that in the mean time guess what was launched by the Corcoran Group? "Corcoran Cares" This validated for me that yes, I am in fact brilliant because they probably paid someone a lot of money to create that for them, but indeed, I felt sad that I had it first and now would look to the world as  someone who copied them. Copying is something I never do actually, I'd rather think of something new. So the moral of the story is, you can have all the good ideas you want. But they mean nothing unless they are implemented and successful! Adina~
