NYC Housing Prices Still High By Tom Faure

Even as some experts predict that New York's housing prices are dropping, the numbers reveal a different story.
Participants in the debate over the state of the housing bubble in Manhattan have become vocal over the last year. While some believe that the cost of real estate in the city has already begun to decline, others suggest that in Manhattan, low prices are still the exception rather than the rule.
According to New York Magazine's Real Estate Guide, in 2005 there was an over-supply of apartments in Harlem, which could result in lower prices. A third of Manhattan's residential construction is slated for the area, according to the Guide.
